I couldn't make coordinated turnsMore Songs
With rudder and with aileron. It's just hard to learn.
Then my flight instructor showed this instrument to me.
It's right there in the panel, and it isn't hard to see.
Now just check out this great turn I did!
Smooth, without a slip or skid.
It's all because I'm learning how to step on the ball. When you must bank, in flight or near the ground,
There's something that's called adverse yaw, pulls the nose around
Opposite to the direction that you did intend.
So, coordinated rudder helps you 'round the bend
And your turn is gonna come out smooth.
Your instructor will approve
As long as you remember how to step on the ball.Once you have mastered stepping on the ball,
You'll feel it in your seat, won't need the ball at all.
But, when you've diverted lift, the nose will start to drop.
Gentle elevator pressure's gonna make it stop.
But, you mustn't give the yoke a yank.
That will make you over-bank.
Just neutralize the ailerons and step on the ball.
