The true worth of an organization is measured not by its market capitalization, but rather by the intrinsic value of its intellectual property. We at Microcomm exist to help you to maximize that value. Much of our task involves assisting you in securing legal protection for your intellectual property. Though only one of us is an attorney, we all have extensive experience with patent law, and will assist you or your existing patent attorney with technical documentation required in patent and trademark filings, will help you in writing claims, and can provide you with the necessary background to successfully defend those claims against infringement.

Designs developed for you under a Microcomm consulting contract are considered works-for-hire. Although our engineers are named as inventors or co-inventors in any patent filing, your contract will stipulate that all resulting patents will be assigned to you. It is the client's responsibility to provide all necessary legal fees, filing fees, and patent maintenance fees. It is our responsibility to ensure that your proprietary information is protected throughout the filing process, and to provide documentation which will enhance your chances of securing and defending the resulting patents and trademarks.
