Microcomm Consulting was founded as a custom electronic design and development house, specializing in microwave communications circuits and systems. First established in California's Silicon Valley in 1974, the company is best known for having produced the world's first commercial home satellite TV receiver. Microcomm relocated to Pennsylvania in 1990, when its founder, distinguished engineering professor Dr. H. Paul Shuch, moved East at the behest of his academic career. Fifty years after his company's founding, having long ago stepped down from academia, Prof. Shuch is now fully retired, and has relocated back to California.
