AvSport is honored to be the first flight school in the nation to rise to the challenge of providing training for commercial UAS operators under the new FAR Part 107 rules. We have now developed training materials and implemented our own curriculum, which has already prepared our first five graduates to pass the required Aeronautical Knowledge Test.

In lieu of this exam, FAA is still accepting a Sport Pilot Certificate as suitable for issuance of a Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small Unmanned Aircraft System rating. As it happens, AvSport is one of the leaders in the Light Sport industry, and has been training students for the past seven years to earn Sport Pilot licenses at a fraction of the cost required to achieve the traditional Private Pilot certificate.
