Go Around

There’s a lesson my CFI drilled into me,
And I’m happily sharing it with you, for free.
If you’re landing, and don’t like the looks of things, then
Convert landing to takeoff, and try it again.Chorus:
For the landing is optional. You can climb higher,
If you’re not out of fuel, and your plane’s not on fire.
One thing to remember when nearing the ground:
If it doesn’t look perfect, then just go around. When your airspeed’s not stabilized inbound to land,
Don’t continue, because things might get out of hand.
Whether too fast, or too slow, your judgment is sound
If you call off that landing and just go around.Chorus
If your altitude just isn’t where it should be
When you’re inbound on final, then listen to me:
Whether too high, or maybe too close to the ground,
Bring in throttle and rudder, and please go around.Chorus
If your touchdown zone doesn’t appear where it should,
Know that runway behind you will do you no good.
Never dive for the threshold and make a loud sound!
Convert landing to takeoff when you go around.Chorus
And even when everything looks right as rain,
You can stay in the pattern. It isn’t insane
To fly a bit longer. So, let me expound:
You do not need a reason to just go around.Chorus
