The Dangers of Raising Children in the United States

Right now in the US, we people with
open-minded child rearing ideas have to be very careful. Over here, mothers
have been charged with child abuse for nursing 4 yr. olds. The family bed
concept has been attacked as promoting incest! In Alaska it is illegal
to touch your child anywhere in the area covered by a bathing suit. (This
means you can't do raspberries on your kid's belly.) We should not be seen
nude by our children older than age 5 according to Ann Landers. In most
states one can be arrested for grabbing a cute little hiney as it runs
away from you. And even though Bill Cosby has admitted kissing a bare bottom,
it would not be safe to admit that now. He raised his children in an era
when the "State" didn't get paid for taking children away from their parents
and putting them in foster care. We have 800 # s where people can anonymously
report you for "child abuse". The "children's services" people don't even
have to go through due process. They just take your kids! I wonder if this
sounds improbable to you over there? I could hardly believe that it was
happening until the head of the fisherman's union had my fish inspector
brother framed and jailed (in Alaska) on a false abuse charge. Attorneys
who viewed the interview tape of my niece were horrified at the tactics
the interrogators used with her. My brother is awaiting an appeal. All
you have to do, is irritate the wrong person, and poof, your life is ruined.

Protection System. I will never trust the state again. And I have instructed
my sons that policemen are not your friends. Never tell them anything.
Perhaps one day, sanity will return to our
country. A good start would be if the "children's protective service"
agencies paid enough in salary to attract workers with families of their
own.
